Hi,
According to their FAQ it’s certainly heading in a product directions. With respect to Mathematica they state:
“Wolfram|Alpha gives small, quick, one-off results on the web. Mathematica is a broad, deep computing environment that lets you handle arbitrarily sophisticated problems. Extensions to both Wolfram|Alpha and Mathematica will bring the two closer together.”
They cover the current and potential future state of the business model there too.

Is this really going to be a product? Or is it more advertising for the power of their Mathematica software? The only real model that jumps to mind for them would be the contextual ad-supported search engine style business model, but maybe I’m missing something.
